What is this website?
This website is an interface to the Microsoft Terminology Glossary and the Microsoft Community Glossary, two collections of Microsoft’s official computer terminology in English and 61 other languages.
What is the Microsoft Terminology Glossary?
The Microsoft Terminology Glossary is a list of approximately 12,000 English terms, and their translations in up to 59 languages. These are used by Microsoft’s internal software localizers and external localization partners. Microsoft has made this glossary publicly available on their website as a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file. As CSV files are cumbersome to search, this website provides an easier way to access this glossary.
What is the Microsoft Community Glossary?
The Microsoft Community Glossary is part of Microsoft’s Local Language Program, an initiative to localize Microsoft products into minority or lesser-used languages such as Irish, Basque, Punjabi and Quechua. The Community Glossary is where volunteers produce mutually agreed-upon lists of software terminology in those languages.
Note: At the moment, only Alsatian and Irish are available here from the Community Glossary. The remaining languages will be added soon.
